Vic Mensa – Did It B4

Posted by & filed under Tracks. Leave a comment

After premiering the video for the first official single from his upcoming project a little over a week ago, Vic Mensa returns to bless his fans with the MP3 download of his song, ‘Did It B4′. If you haven’t already, watch them dissect Vic Mensa’s brain in the video right here. If you’re a producer, Vic has also released an acapella version for you guys to fuck around with which you can grab here.  INNANETAPE dropping soon.

Side note: Mensa has announced a week and a couple days ago that the Chicago band, Kids These Days, has made an amicable decision to disband.  Sad news, but let’s be thankful for all the music they’ve given us over the years.  You can also check out some of Mensa’s latest raps on their final project release, Traphouse Rock.

Here is a look at the official artwork for J. Cole’s upcoming sophomore album, Born Sinner. Below, you can check out the artwork for the deluxe version of the album. What was originally set to drop on June 25th has now been pushed up a week to June 18th. Even though we’ve been getting a good amount of music from J. Cole in the past weeks, the only known track to appear on the album is his single “Power Trip” featuring Miguel. With the album releasing in under a month, expect new music dropping very soon.

Weekly Detox – 5/13 – 5/19

If you aren’t aware yet, the Weekly Detox is our round up of weekly posts compiled into one post to make the lives of people who aren’t able to visit the site everyday a lot easier. Even though I do recommend you checking out the site every day, the only downside is you won’t have new music the day it drops. This week, Kanye West dropped a bombshell on the world that his next album will be titled Yeezus and is set to drop in one month (June 18th). With no official single out yet, that seemed unlikely to the regular music fan that knows business. But since it’s Kanye West, I’m sure he’ll still sell a million even with the lack of promotion so far. In addition, Kendrick Lamar drops a new video, Nipsey Hussle returns from his hiatus, The Weeknd breaks the internet with new music, A$AP Ferg drops the remix to his ‘Work’ single, and a lot more. Hit the jump for the full list of posts made this week. (more…)

Chuck Forbes – Drinkin & Thinkin [Video]

Posted by & filed under Music Videos, Videos. Leave a comment

After dropping the single back in February, Chuck Forbes returns with the official visuals for the first single off his upcoming full length release.  This is what the South Florida artist had to say about the track:

‘Drinkin’ & Thinkin’ brings all my emotions, feelings, and thoughts to life. It is more than a love song from a hip-hop record. To me, ‘Drinkin & Thinkin’ is that moment that everyone can relate to when all you feel like doing is taking time to ease the mind with a little alcohol and thoughts reflecting on those you have touched a certain place inside you.  The Renaissance is filled with tunes pouring out love, excitement, fear and anticipation onto beats about a young man’s life.  Hope you enjoy this video and the entire project.

The Rennaissance is out June 1st.  For now, enjoy the Alan LeBlanc-directed video above.

Kanye West – Black Skinhead (Live On SNL) [Video]

After the worldwide premiere of ‘New Slaves’ last night, Kanye West makes his way to Saturday Night Live by premiering another new song titled ‘Black Skinhead’. Doesn’t take a genius to see what direction Kanye is going for his new album. Just know when it does drop, it’ll be controversial for sure. The audio for this video isn’t the best (and it doesn’t help that he’s screaming for his life) so I wouldn’t make a final decision on this until the MP3 drops. Yeezus coming on June 18th.

Juicy J – Boss Nigga [Video]

Juicy J said that the video was coming soon but we didn’t know it’d be that soon. After dropping the audio for this track yesterday, Juicy J returns this morning with the official visuals to accompany the braggadocious rap. Great to see Juicy still feeding the streets while he’s on his first solo headlining national tour with A$AP Ferg. There’s still a couple dates left on the tour so if you’re on the Westcoast, make sure you get your tickets now before they’re gone. Stay Trippy the album coming soon.

The energetic, impressive single from K. Roosevelt that originally appeared on his solo effort, RoseGold, but later reappeared on Hit-Boy’s HS87 compilation mixtape, All I’ve Ever Dreamed Of, gets the visual treatment.  The video has a nice set of footage to fit the very infectious sound and vibe this track gives off.  Check out the new video from the HS87 representative above.

Kanye West – New Slaves (Full Preview) [Video]

Posted by & filed under Videos. Leave a comment

Kanye decided to be unique by debuting his new track and video called “New Slaves” via giant projections on 66 buildings across the globe. Complex is currently at the Williamsburg, Brooklyn location which they were able to capture this preview for everyone who couldn’t make it out to one of the 66 locations.  Could this be the new song that Kanye West was planning to drop on June 18th?  Possibly.  For now, this is the best we’ll get until that date.
