The infamous producer of the “Niggas In Paris” beat Hit-Boy has now stepped from behind the boards to lay down some flows on this free release. Being the lead producer for the G.O.O.D. Music collective he of curse had to get some of those guys in the likes of Big Sean, Kid Cudi and John Legend. Also lending some assist is Houston old head Bun B and Cleveland’s Chip Tha Ripper. So before Kydd heads up to the big apple, Kydd decides to drop off a new project for the summer to showcase his southern roots in his music. This project comes less than 6 months since Kydd dropped Sounds In My Head II, so I wouldn’t be surpised if we’re treated to another project before the end of the year. So with these two solid projects out so far, it should be enough to hold you guys over for awhile. Stream below and the purchase link is after the jump.

Paul White – Rapping With Paul White [album]

Posted by & filed under Albums, Mixtapes. Leave a comment

This is a project that stayed under the radar, but could be one of the more interesting underground releases of the past few years. The real surprise is that a few heavyweights having a big year in 2012, like Danny Brown and Homeboy Sandman, are featured artists on two of the tracks. Making it even better is that Boy Sand’s Stones Throw cohort Guilty Simpson also jumps on a track. When I asked Sandman how he got in on this project he replied,

“Paul White’s manager, Alex Chase, is one of the most knows [of] what’s really cooking in all of the UK. He put me on and I’m very glad he did. Paul is a genius.”

It’s not everyday you see a lyrical genius shouting out another of his kind, but after a few spins I have to agree this is a smart project with enough ingredients to keep you hitting replay.

If that isn’t enough for you, this past month Henry Keen aka The Room Below did a full electronic cover of the album, which takes inspiration from the essence of the original songs, and recreates it via drum machines, synths and written interludes. As the description boasts, “it’s a heavy analogue electronics rap record with not a sample in sight.” Worth check it out here.

Nemo Achida – Conversations With Myself [Free Album]

Posted by & filed under Albums, Mixtapes. Leave a comment

Real shit, I always gotta respect an artist who can rap and produce their own beats. Nemo Achida dropped his new project yesterday, Conversations With Myself, and it’s all Nemo. Bars, production, no features. Nemo connects with his fans real well because for me, this is really more of a “Conversations With His Fans” since you don’t hear anyone else which puts his music on a more personal level. Full album stream and download link after the jump. (more…)
